🦌 #5 Visiting Klövensteen Wildlife Park (Free Entrance!)🦥

Hi everyone!

Have you ever wondered what I as Korean living in Hamburg, Germany usually do on nice weekends? 😎☀️

Since the late autumn weather was so amazing, I decided to visit Wildgehege Klövensteen, a wildlife park located in Altona, Hamburg. I want to enjoy the weather and sun before winter comes.

As a Korean, I find it very fascinating that in Germany, you don’t need to go to a zoo to see animals. There are so many beautiful, nature-friendly parks like this where animals live freely.

🚗 How to Get There

You can easily get there by taking the S1 train to Rissen Station, then continue by bike(10min) or on foot for a short distance.

We took this time to bike by ourselvse.

🎫 Tour & Opening Hours

It is written that around 13:00, you can watch the animals being fed.
We arrived before noon, so we just walked around and explored on our own.

You can also find detailed information about the animals and opening hours on the board in front of the entrance.

🌲 Another Free Wildlife Park Nearby

Last time, I also visited another wildlife park in Möllen (also free of charge).
It was a true wilderness — there were no fences at all!
It felt very natural, but it was actually quite hard to spot any animals because they were all hiding deep in the forest.

In contrast, Klövensteen has fences sometimes double fences, which makes it easier to see the animals up close.

🦥 Animals You Can See

I could get to see deer from just a few centimeters away! We could even touch them.
You can also spot raccoons napping high up in the trees, and I was surprised by how fast the wild pig families were running around!

Doesn’t it almost look like abroad?

🌿 Conclusion

The weather was perfect — lots of families with happy kids and bicycles enjoying nature.

If you live near Hamburg, I can recommend visiting the Klövensteen Animal Park with your family or friends. I personally thought it would be really nice if I could show this park to my mom. I definitely will come here again!
It’s a peaceful and refreshing weekend escape that costs absolutely nothing! 🌳✨
